Quick Answer
The Sea to Summit Aeros Premium Large is our pick for most campers: a memory foam top over an adjustable air chamber, a quick XPRESS valve and PillowLock patches that stick it to your sleeping pad. The NEMO Fillo adds luxury foam over a 3 inch air cell with a washable cover for a pillow-like feel. The Big Agnes Rapide SL is the lightest by far at 1.6 ounces for backpackers. The Therm-a-Rest Air Head is a 4 inch baffled air pillow with a soft synthetic-fill, machine washable cover, made in the USA.

A camping pillow is the cheapest way to sleep better in a tent, and an inflatable one packs down to almost nothing. We compared four inflatable camping pillows from Therm-a-Rest, Sea to Summit, NEMO and Big Agnes, each about 4 to 5 inches thick when full and sized for one person.
How We Chose
We picked four well-known outdoor brands and kept to inflatable pillows for camping and backpacking. They are not built the same way: the Big Agnes is air only, the Therm-a-Rest is air under a synthetic-fill cover, and the Sea to Summit and NEMO add a foam layer over the air chamber, which makes them heavier but softer. Sizes are close but not identical, and we list the Sea to Summit in Large because its Regular is smaller than the others. Only the Sea to Summit has a system to stick the pillow to your sleeping pad. Specs come from each brand’s own product pages, and each card lists the warranty from the brand’s own warranty page. Prices are the Amazon prices on the date shown.
The Lineup
Specs come from each brand’s own pages. Sizes are length by width by thickness as each brand lists them. Therm-a-Rest and Big Agnes do not name a valve type on their pages. Sea to Summit’s page for the Aeros Premium Pillow lists the Large at 17 by 12 by 5 inches and 5.3 ounces, packing to 5 by 4 by 4 inches. It has a top layer of memory foam and brushed stretch knit fabric over an adjustable TPU air chamber, a mini XPRESS valve for quick inflation and deflation, and included 3M PillowLock patches that stick to most camping pads.
