A bedroom humidifier adds moisture to dry winter air, which is why shoppers start looking as the heating season begins. We put three cool mist humidifiers from Levoit, Honeywell and Vornado side by side on tank size, runtime, coverage, type, weight and warranty.
How We Chose
We compared one cool mist humidifier each from Levoit, Honeywell and Vornado with tanks of about 1 gallon (the Levoit holds 4.2 L, a little more). They are not identical: the Levoit and Honeywell are ultrasonic models, while the Vornado is evaporative and uses a wick you replace every few weeks. The pages do not all give the same specs, so some cells say what the manufacturer lists instead of a matching figure. We take specs from each manufacturer’s page where it gave one, and each cell names its source. Warranty terms come from the manufacturer’s own website where it names the model or product line, then from the Amazon listing, and we say so where neither gave a length. Prices are Amazon prices checked in October 2026 and can change.

$42.49 as of Oct 16, 2026, 11:35 pm CT on Amazon · lowest price, largest tank
Best for: buyers who want the largest tank here (4.2 L) and up to 42 hours of runtime.
We like the NeoClassic 450 for tank size and runtime. Levoit’s page for the NeoClassic 450 lists a 4.2 L tank, up to 42 hours of operation, 21 to 26 dB noise (21 dB in Sleep Mode), 270 mL/h output, a size of 8.1 x 8.1 x 12.8 in and a 2-Year Limited Warranty. The page does not name the model number, so we match it to Amazon’s listing (LUH-N451-WUS) by name and tank size.

$59.69 as of Oct 16, 2026, 11:35 pm CT on Amazon · 5 year warranty, evaporative

We would pick the EV100 if you prefer evaporative humidification to ultrasonic mist. Vornado’s page lists a 1 gallon tank, whole-room humidification up to 260 sq ft and a 5-Year Satisfaction Guarantee. Its owner’s guide says high-speed operation evaporates 1 gallon (plus or minus 10%) in 24 hours of continuous use in a 70°F room at 30% relative humidity, offers High, Low and Auto modes, and says the wick lasts about 4 to 8 weeks depending on use. Vornado does not publish a weight, so the weight comes from the Amazon listing.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best humidifier for a bedroom?
We would start with the Levoit NeoClassic 450 for most bedrooms: it lists a 4.2 L tank and up to 42 hours of runtime on Levoit’s page, at the lowest price here ($42.49). We like the Honeywell HUL545B as the filter-free option and the Vornado EV100 as the evaporative option with a 5 year warranty.
What size humidifier do I need for a bedroom?
Match the coverage to your room. Levoit lists up to 432 sq ft for the NeoClassic 450 and Vornado lists up to 260 sq ft for the EV100, while Honeywell lists only medium rooms for the HUL545B without a square footage. Check your room size against the figure for the model you pick.
Should you run a humidifier all night?
The runtimes here are long enough for a night: Levoit lists up to 42 hours, Honeywell lists 36 hours on Low and Vornado says its EV100 evaporates 1 gallon in 24 hours on High. We suggest you follow the manufacturer’s manual on cleaning and water use, and keep the room from feeling damp.
What warranty do these humidifiers have?
We take these from the manufacturers: Levoit lists a 2-Year Limited Warranty, the Honeywell store page lists 2 years, and the Vornado owner’s guide lists five years. Terms can differ by seller and region, so we suggest you confirm before you buy.
