A premium pellet grill adds Wi-Fi control, a bigger hopper, sturdier steel, and more cooking area than an entry-level model. This comparison puts four higher-end pellet grills from recteq, Grilla, Weber, and Traeger side by side on cooking area, temperature range, connectivity, weight, and warranty.
How We Chose
We compared four premium pellet grills from recteq, Grilla, Weber, and Traeger. The Traeger, Weber, recteq and Grilla grills are all available on Amazon. We also looked for Yoder Smokers, but on Amazon we found only third-party covers and parts, no grills, and Yoder’s own site points buyers to dealers, so it is not included. We left out Broil King and Blaze because the offers we found were from third-party sellers. The grills are not identical. Cooking area runs from 665 to 972 sq in, prices run from about $800 to about $1,200, and the listings give different specs, so each spec cell names its source: the manufacturer’s page where it gave a value, and the Amazon listing otherwise. Traeger’s own pages list different weights for the Woodridge Pro (174 lb on the product page, 190 lb on the support guide). We picked the Woodridge Pro for the Traeger slot because its Amazon title, details table (model TFB97JLH) and Traeger’s pages all describe the same grill. The Timberline 850 listing we first considered showed a Woodridge Elite model number, weight and dimensions in its details table, so we did not use it. This is a researched comparison, not a hands-on test, so we make no claims about smoke flavor, temperature accuracy, or build quality beyond what each listing says. If you want the most cooking area, the Weber Searwood XL 600 lists 972 sq in on Weber’s page, and the Traeger Woodridge Pro is close behind at 970 sq in and lists the longest stated warranty, 10 years limited. If you want a stated 4 year warranty and a big hopper, the Grilla lists both. The Weber lists a 36 inch build with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and the recteq is the cheapest with the hottest listed range and a 4 year warranty on its page. Pellet grills need electricity and a steady supply of pellets, so factor those in. We did not test any of them.

Frequently Asked Questions
What makes a pellet grill premium?

We did not find a Yoder grill on Amazon, only third-party covers and parts. Yoder’s website points buyers to authorized dealers, so Yoder is not in this comparison.
